Zurisaday Manikarnika Sriraman, daughter of Camp Desi Roots co-founders, Prerna and Anoop, is also a 5th grader and the author of the captivating book, “The Bindi Girls.” Zuri is an avid reader, writer, poet, artist, activist, singer, dreamer, and extreme cuddler.
In this heartfelt reflection, Zurisaday Sriraman shares how Camp Desi Roots became more than a camp, a place to embrace her identity, build meaningful friendships, celebrate culture, and experience the true meaning of belonging.
Camp Desi Roots is committed to making camp accessible to South Asian youth, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. Your contribution helps provide scholarships so more young people can experience a summer of storytelling, outdoor adventure, friendship, and community.
